My husband and I (okay, really just my husband), are finishing the basement. It’s been more of a hobby, if you will, and as he has a full time job, is one of those, we-get-to-it-when-we-have-time types of things. He has done all of it himself, and it looks amazing. We had painters come in last week (we are awful painters, and know it, so figured we might as well have the pros do this task), and it is truly coming together.
Last week we started going to tile distributors, thinking surely they would have better pricing that Lowes or Home Depot, right? My $6.50/square foot taste was not going to cut it, so after searching online, I came across Build Direct and ordered five free samples, that were promptly delivered this morning.
We decided on this one. So modern, and so much chepaer than $6.50/square foot!
I love the modern lines, and since we’re installing 12 x 24 subway tiles, I’m hoping it will complement the gray theme I’m going for down there, with a sports-bar-man-cave-twist, of course.
I love the lanterns, and simplicity in the above photo, ahhh, lanterns!
Okay, so back to Ask and you shall receive. Right. So when placing my order for these beautiful tiles I decided to do a quick search online to see if I could find any fancy promo codes (every little bit helps, right)? When I couldn’t find any active ones, I decided to pick up the phone and call them, and just because I was a new customer, and asked for it, they shaved $0.05/square foot off the tile, and about $30 off of shipping! Not a huge discount, but definitely better than paying full price.
So when doing a big purchase for your home, always ask if there is any promo code or special discount for new customers. The worst they can say is no, right?
